Some of use just doesn't want to know. We either put our hands over the mouth and ears or we pretend that no one want to hurt our system, maybe others, but not ours. What am I talking about? Security of course. As a developer we tend to always postpone this issue when we develop our systems. (That I say this is not anything new either.) But guys, we can't do that. But you don't have to know everything. You don't need to go undercover for three years as a hacker ourselves to know how they think.
Microsoft and other companies have good checklists and other documents and programs that can help you a lot.
Yesterday I also found a truly interesting article how a hacker, or criminal as the author calls them, might infiltrate a network.
Take the time and read it. It's worth it.
